Melanie Lan is an artist and educator based in NYC.
Melanie lives in Queens, New York, and has previously resided in California, Ireland, and Washington State. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. Currently she is the workshop director at Case for Making where she organizes online classes and teaches watercolor painting.
Passionate about community building through sharing art with others, she offers classes both in person and virtually. She has taught team building workshops for clients such as ActBlue, Adobe, Gap, Google, Meta, and Stripe.
Melanie holds a BA from Fairhaven College, Western Washington University, and an MFA from the Burren College of Art in Ireland. She has an interdisciplinary background in visual arts, cross-cultural studies, and somatic psychology. Her work explores the intersection of healing, meaning-making, and the natural world.
In her free time Melanie is a selenophile who loves tide pools, stargazing, big trees, and long walks with good snacks.
